KARACHI: A proposal to close schools upto middle classes is under consideration in Sindh in the wake of rising number of coronavirus cases.

A meeting of the steering committee of Sindh education department was held here on Saturday, in which two recommendations on closing down schools were put forwarded.

Some of the participants of the meeting suggested closing schools for 15 days, however, others opposed shutting down all the schools.

Sources said that some members of the steering committee suggested to continue classes from 9th grade to 12th. On the occasion, the representatives of the private schools association opposing the suggestion questioned that if markets are opened then why should the schools be closed?
