Special Parliamentary Committee to meet today for appointment of CJ

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s standing committee on religious affairs has expressed its anger over the un-Islamic slogans and demands made during the Aurat March.

The meeting of the standing committee on religious affairs was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Asad Mahmood.

The chairman of the NA body said that none of the slogans inscribed on the placards were in accordance with Islam. Those slogans cannot even be repeated.

Shahida Akhtar, a member of the committee, said that the videos of the women participants of the Aurat March had gone viral on the social media.

The NA body had decided to write a letter to the interior ministry to probe into the matter.

It was also decided to seek a list of the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that participated in the so-called march.
