LAHORE: Three health workers at the Mayo Hospital have contracted coronavirus despite getting vaccination against the the deadly disease.

Sources said that Dr Aftab, head nurse Asmat and ward in charge Tanveer Bhatti have tested positive for coronavirus.

Symptoms of coronavirus started appearing in Dr Aftab five days after being administered the vaccine. Head nurse Asmat and ward in charge Tanveer Bhatti were administered the vaccine at the inauguration of the coronavirus vaccination campaign. Virus symptoms in both the health workers started appearing 15 days after the vaccination.

The sources said that 1100 health workers have so far been vaccinated at the Mayo Hospital.
