Modi terms farmers’ protests as an insult to India

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed the ongoing farmers protests as an insult to the country.

According to the media reports, the Indian prime minster for the first time gave his reaction since the protests started by the farmers against the new controversial agriculture laws.

In his radio address, the prime minister said that the situation arisen in New Delhi after the farmers protest on the eve of Republic Day had earned a bad name for the country.

The country is saddened over the contempt of the national flag (Tri-colour) on January 26, he added.
