LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan leader and former MNA Hafiz Salman Butt has passed away.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami spokesman, former MNA Hafiz Salman Butt was suffering from kidney ailment and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital for the past few days. The spokesman said that Hafiz Salman Butt had suffered a heart attack last night which proved fatal. Funeral prayers of Hafiz Salman Butt will be offered in Mansoora after Friday prayers today.
Butt was 65 years old. He was born on January 17, 1956 in Lahore. He graduated from Punjab University in 1982. Hafiz Salman Butt was elected to the National Assembly three times.
Expressing grief over the demise of Hafiz Salman Butt, the leaders of political and religious parties said that may Allah elevate the status of the deceased and grant patience to his family.
