Peshawar: Universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have decided to end the pension facility for newly recruited employees due to the financial crisis.

The higher education department has sent a letter to the universities of the province asking them to abolish pension facility for the newly recruited employees to avoid financial deficit.

In addition, the letter also asked the university to make new recruitments according to its own pay scale instead of the government pay scale.

The letter said that in order to control the financial deficit, the fees of schools under the supervision of universities should be increased and the existing medical and house allowances should be changed to the rate of the provincial government.
