Wheat, sugar scandal will be taken to logical conclusion as per law: NAB chief

Islamabad: NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that there was solid evidence of money laundering and the investigation into the wheat and sugar scandal would be taken to a logical conclusion as per law.

Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said in a statement that money laundering of billions of rupees was carried out from the country for which there is solid evidence.

He said that NAB investigates white collar crimes and mega tax cases, adding that time is needed to gather evidence during the investigation.

Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that NAB has deposited Rs714 billion in the national exchequer since its inception. 1243 cases of corruption are pending in various NAB courts, he added.
