KARACHI: Teams of KMC, police, Rangers and other concerned agencies have reached the spot to remove encroachments on Mahmoodabad Nullah.
A large contingent of police is present in the entire area before the operation to widen the strom drain in Mahmoodabad and police personnel have been deployed outside every street to deal with any possible protests and untoward situation.
Arrangements for the operation have been made by the police and the administration. Mud structures have been demolished along the drain and heavy machinery has been called for demolition of concrete structures. Senior police officials are also present on the spot.
Sources said that Saeed Ghani, a member of Sindh Assembly from the area, had planned a 20-width width around the drain. Earlier several houses were expected to be demolished, but now the plan had been changed and only a part of each house will be demolished.
