ISLAMABAD: The Metro bus service has been suspended in the twin cities after a strike by employees over non-payment of salaries here on Thursday.

According to a local TV, the ticketing staff of the Metro bus service went on strike against the non-payment of salaries, resulting in suspension of service in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The employees staged a sit-in at the IJP station, demanding immediate payment of their salaries.

The staff members said that they had not been paid salaries for the last three months.

Earlier in September, the employees had parked the metro buses on a track in Faizabad over non-payment of salaries.
