LARKANA: Thirty-four pregnant women have been found HIV positive during the last nine months at the Sheikh Zayed Women’s Hospital here in Larkana.
According to Dr Saqib of PD Aids Control program, the patients were also brought to the hospital from Shahdadkot, Kashmore and Shikarpur.
Sources said that hospital’s HIV Bachai Center lacked the facilities۔ Even the protective equipment used during operations and deliveries was not available at the Sheikh Zayed Women’s Hospital, they added.
The sources said that the the Sindh Aids Control Program has the annual budget of Rs600 million.
The patients have expressed dissatisfaction over the medical facilities at the hospital. They also complaint that they are not being given all the medicines.
