Saeed Ghani orders inquiry into students’ death at private school

KARACHI: Taking notice of the death of a schoolgirl, Sindh Education Minister Saeed on Tuesday sought a report on the incident from Private Schools Director General Mansoob Siddiqui.

Acting on the directives, Mansoob Siddiqui formed a two-member committee comprising deputy directors to investigate the incident.

Saeed Ghani directed the DG private schools to find out how did the incident take place and why the school management did not immediately shift the student to a hospital.

Earlier, a 9th class student had died at a private school in the Ayesha Manzil neighbourhoood of Karachi here on Tuesday morning.

15-year-old Areeba fell from stairs at the Campus 3 of Happy Palace School at Ayesha Manzil.

According to school owner Asif Khan, Areeba suddenly fell while going up stairs. She was taken to a private hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

On the other hand, the parents of the student had alleged that the school administration neither shifted their daughter to hospital immediately not informed them about the incident.
