SHANGHAI: A Chinese newspaper on Tuesday warned that If India likes a military showdown, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) would make the Indian army suffer much more than the 1962 border conflict.

In its editorial, the Global Times said that India is facing a “powerful China”. It advised India not to be under any illusions of backing from the US over the border issue.

If New Delhi wants to enter into a competition, Beijing has more capability and weapons than India, the editorial added.

Earlier on Monday, Indian officials claimed that New Delhi had foiled a Chinese forces’ attempt to capture a hill in the western Himalayas.

However, China had denied its troops crossed the line of actual control.

Later, China had urged India to withdraw her forces that had illegally crossed the shared border.
