UAE officially ends boycott of Israel

Dubai: The UAE on Saturday lifted its boycott of Israel following an agreement to restore bilateral relations with Tel Aviv.

According to foreign news agency, the ruler of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Caliph Zaid bin Nahyan, has issued an order approving lifting of the boycott of Israel and signing trade and economic agreements with it.

The UAE state media said that the order of Khalifa Zaid bin Al Nahyan is aimed at further enhancing cooperation between the two countries under the bilateral relations agreement.

Earlier, the schedule for the first flight from Israel to the United Arab Emirates has been released.

The maiden commercial flight will take off from Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport.

According to reports, the flight from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi is expected to carry an Israeli delegation, including US officials, to restore relations between the UAE and Israel. They will discuss making the current agreement sustainable.

The flight schedule has been released on the website of the Israeli Airports Authority on Friday, according to which the return flight will be on Tuesday.
