Karachi: Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed on Wednesday expressing anger over the Sindh government remarked that the provincial government had completely failed while only the rulers are enjoying.

The Chief Justice made these remarks while hearing a petition concerning encroachments on storm drains here at the Supreme Court’s Karachi registry.

The Karachi commissioner and advocate general Sindh apeared before the court.

The commissioner presented a report on the encroachment to the court, at which the apex court expressed dissatisfaction.

The report says there are three major storm drains and 514 small drains under the control of DMCs. The NDMA is working on the three major drains in the city.

The court expressed dissatisfaction over the Sindh government and the local government.

The CJ observed that the Sindh government had done nothing for the people. Neither the provincial nor the local government was doing anything for the masses. The entire city is filled with sewage. The situation is worst from Karachi to Kashmore, he added.
