Two ex-presidents of NBP turn approver against Zardari

Karachi: Two former presidents of the National Bank of Pakistan has turned approver against Asif Zardari in the Park Lane reference.

The Park Lane reference was heard on a petition filed by Asif Ali Zardari regarding the jurisdiction of the accountability court.

NAB Prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi completed his arguments and said in his arguments that this is not a case of ordinary transaction.

The NAB presented the pay orders used to transfer money in the accounts of the rickshaw driver and ice cream vendor.

The NAB prosecutor said that Rs200 million was transferred to the rickshaw driver in the name of Dream Trading while Rs200 million was also transferred to the account of the ice cream vendor in the name of Ocean Enterprises.

During the hearing, the NAB claimed that in the Park Lane reference, two former presidents of the National Bank have become pardoned witnesses against Asif Zardari.

The statements recorded by both the former presidents before the NAB were presented in the court and the prosecutor said that the NAB had pardoned both the witnesses to testify in accordance with the law.
