Islamabad: Turkish Airlines has agreed to a new agreement with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) under which PIA passengers will be able to travel on Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to the United Kingdom and other European countries.
According to sources, Turkish Airlines has agreed to a new code sharing agreement with PIA.
In this connection, Turkish Airlines has written a letter to the head of PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik asking that a unilateral co-sharing agreement be signed between the two airlines.
The letter added that Turkish Air and PIA would share codes for Birmingham, London, Milan, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Oslo.
Following the agreement, the PIA passengers will be able to book tickets for Turkish Airlines’ European routes from Istanbul Airport.
Sources say the code-sharing agreement is being struck due to restrictions on PIA flights by the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.
