Assets of Chaudhry brothers increased manifold after 1985: NAB report

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed an inquiry report against the Chaudhry brothers in the Lahore High Court.

According to the report, the Chaudhry brothers also laundered money using fake accounts.

In 1985, the assets of Chaudhry Shujaat and his family were worth Rs2.1 million, which increased to over Rs518.4 million in 2019.

Chaudhry Shujaat built properties worth Rs123 million, he and his sons gave loans of more than Rs1.5 billion to various companies owned by them. Over Rs581 million were transferred in the accounts of Chaudhry Shujaat’s two sons from abroad, which has no source and evidence.

The assets of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and his family increased by Rs4.069 billion from 1985 to 2018.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also bought property worth Rs250 million. His family also received Rs978 million in their accounts from anonymous accounts.
