Karachi: The K-Electric has been pushing the people of Karachi towards econonic death.

This was stated by Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while addressing to the partcipants of a massive sit-in against the poor performanxe of KE here on the Shahrea Faisal. The sit-in is still going on till the filing of this report.

The JI leader said that the rulers were playing a drama by providing relief to the KE.

If the government is really sincere with the masses then it should immediately withdraw the recent increase in KE tariff, Hafiz Naeem says.

He asked the federal government to nationalise the KE after cancelling its licence. Gas is being supplied to the power company after suspending supply to the CNG stations and industries. The federal government is selling the Steel Mills and terminating its employees. But, on the other hand it is giving billion of rupees subsidy and additional gas to the K-Electric.

Hafiz Naeem said that the JI would continue to fight the case of Karachi and its people, representing the sentiments of masses against the KE.
