Karachi: Four terrorists have been killed by the security forces when they attacked the Pakistan Stock Exchange PSX here on Monday, police said. Five civilians and a police officer were also martyred in the attack.

The terrorists carrying latest weapons stormed the PSX.

Authorities said that the terrorists attacked the main entrance of the PSX with hand-grenades and then opened fire at about 10am in the morning before entering the main building.

Police said that six civilians, including five security guards of the PSX, and a Sub-Inspector, were also martyred in the attack. Seven people were injured in the attack. They were shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Sindh Rangers said that all four terrorists have been killed and the PSX building has been cleared.

According to the PSX, the attack was carried out at the compound of exchange.

Karachi Police Chief Ghulam Nabi Memon said four terrorists attacked the PSX but the security forces foiled it, killing all the attackers.

The terrorist had arrived in a silver-coloured car at the PSX and were carrying latest weapons, he added.

He said that the attackers were clad in uniforms similar to the police.
