KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Thursday denied any shortage in gas supply to the K-Electric.
A spokesman for the SSGC said that there has been no shortage in gas supply on the part of gas company to the KE.
However, he clarified that the gas supply has been increased from 50 million cubic feet to 240 million cubic feet to the power generation company.
Despite shortage, the SSGC is supplying additional gas to the KE, he added.
It is to be noted here that KE has been carrying out prolonged and unannounced loadshedding in the city on the pretext of gas shortage and power theft. In some areas, the power company is using an excuse of technical faults for a prolonged loadshedding.
The power crisis had also led to a water shortage in the city in the scorching summer.
