LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq has said that the government had wasted time of the nation and court by filing a reference based on unfounded and wrong information against Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
He termed the government’s intention of filing the reference as an emotional.
In a statement, the JI chief said that the PTI-led government wanted a control over all the institutions including the media and judiciary.
The present government had become a hostage to the feudal and investors like the previous regimes. The existing system is created by the undemocratic ideology, which will never allow the democracy to grow in the country.
The country will never come out of the swamp of issues unless the interest-based economic system is not uprooted. Half of the budget goes to the IMF and World Bank in the payment of interest of loans, he added.
