Pakistan-origin first front line doctor against coronavirus dies in Saudi Arabia

RIAYDH: The first front line Saudi doctor, hailing from Pakistan, against coronavirus has died from the virus here.

Arab media reports said that surgeon Naeem Chaudhry was the first front line doctor to die from the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia.

Dr Chaudhry had died a couple of days ago. He was working at a hospital in Makkah.

Makkah’s health department director general Dr Hamza voiced grief over the demise of Dr Chaudhry. He said that the Makkah city has lost a senior surgeon.

The Pakistani doctor has played a pivotal role on the front line against coronavirus in the kingdom, Dr Hamza said.

Dr Naeem Chaudhry had contracted coronavirus while performing his duty. He was an high blood pressure patient.

The Pakistani doctor has left behind a widow and three daughters, living in Makkah,  to mourn his death.’
