Lahore: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Punjab chapter, on Thursday demanded of the government to review its decision of allowing congregational prayers and Taraweeh at mosques during the coming holy month of Ramazan.
PMA President Ashraf Nizami, addressing a presser, said that the government’s decision of allowing people to offer prayers at a distance of six feet would not work to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Last week, Pakistan had allowed conditional congregational prayers and Taraweeh in mosques during the holy month of Ramazan.
President Dr Arif Alvi had announced the decision following a meeting with the ulema and political representatives.
He said a 20-point agreement had been agreed upon between the government and ulema.
