10,000 Pakistanis lost jobs in UAE amid coronavirus pandemic

Dubai: Ten thousand Pakistanis have been terminated from their jobs in the United Arab Emirates due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

According to Pakistan’s Consul General Ahmed Amjad Ali, 35,000 Pakistanis were willing to fly to Pakistan. They have been registered with the Consulate, he added.

He said that arrangements were being made to transport 10,000 Pakistanis, who had lost jobs in the UAE, to home.

Ali added that arrangements have been completed to screen the passengers at the Dubai airport.

He said that evacuation of a large number of Pakistanis is a big challenge.
