BEIJING: China on Monday alleged that the US had created and spread fear in the world after the outbreak of coronavirus.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said that instead of extending any help to China to deal with the deadly virus, the US had taken measures, which created and spread fear about the coronavirus.

She said that the first country that withdrew its partial embassy staff was the US. The country was also the first nation to slap a ban on Chinese travelers.

These all steps only helped create and spread fear about the coronavirus, Hua Chunying continued.
