ISLAMABAD: The railways minister should have tendered resignation over the train inferno incident in which 70 passengers had burnt to death last year, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed observed here on Tuesday.
Hearing a case concerning to Pakistan Railway’s financial deficit here, the top judge asked Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to share progress made so far in the train inferno case.
He observed that you should had tendered resignation following the incident which claimed lives of 70 passengers in Liaquatpur area.
Justice Gulzar Ahmed asked the minister when would you take action against the high-ranking officials for negligence that led to the train incident? You have taken action only against low-ranking employees by dismissing driver and gate-keeper.
