At least four hurt as multi-storey building collapsed in Sukkur

SUKKUR: A multi-storey building caved in here on Thursday, injuring four residents, local television channels reported.

Locals recovered four residents from the rubble and transferred them to hospital.

The rescue workers were is facing severe hardships due to darkness as the entire area had plunged into darkness as the building collapsed after hitting the 11,000KV wires passing through the neighbourhood.

Sources said that three families had been residing in the six-storey building.

They said that the residents living in the 19 apartments of the dilapidated building had already been evacuated.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah taking notice of the incident telephoned the commissioner of Sukkur.

He directed the commissioner to promptly carry out the rescue work and provide all medical facilities to the injured.
