Parliament given 10 days to clear deadlock over ECP members’ appointment

Reserved seats: ECP directed to revisit returned candidates' notification

ISLAMABAD: Parliament has been granted 10 days to clear the deadlock over appointment of the Election Commission of Pakistan members here on Thursday.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had issued directions for the parliament to resolve the issue within the given time.

During the hearing, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah lauded the role of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to clear the deadlock over the appointments.

He remarked that Asad Qaiser and Sadiq Sanjrani with their efforts could clear the deadlock being occurred between the government and opposition.
