Supreme Court suspends election tribunal’s order to disqualify Qasim Suri

No-trust motion in violation of Constitution: Deputy Speaker

ISLAMABAD: The apex court has suspended the order of the Balochistan High Court’s election tribunal that disqualified Qasim Suri from the office of the National Assembly Deputy Speaker.

Earlier, Suri had moved the Supreme Court, challenging his disqualification over alleged irregularities in the election process.

Hearing the petition, a three-member bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial suspended the election tribunal’s order which had suspended Qasim Suri from the office of the National Assembly Deputy Speaker.
