CHAMAN: Three people including JUI-F’s Maulana Muhammad Hanif were martyred and eight others injured, when the late JUI-F leader’s convoy was targeted by a blast occurred on Taj road here on Saturday, police said.
Sources said that the improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle was used to target the convoy of JUI-F leader Maulana Muhammad Hanif. The blast was carried out through a remote-controlled device.
Maulana Muhammad Hanif was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The blast was so laud that it was heard in several areas in the city. Windowpanes of several nearby houses and shops were shattered due to impact of the explosion.
The injured have been shifted to district headquarters hospital.
