Muslims, Sikhs set to disrupt ‘Modi, Howdy!’ rally in Houston

HOUSTON: Muslim, including Kashmiri Diaspora and Pakistanis, and Sikh communities have planned to hold protests outside the NRG Centre, where the ‘Modi Howdy!’ rally will be held here on Sunday morning.

Both the communities will protest against India’s decision of abrogating Article 370 and scrapping the special status from Kashmir.

Protesters from various cities including Dallas, Austin, Saint Antonio and Houston will gather to disrupt the ‘Modi Howdy!’ rally, which will be attended by Indian PM Modi and US President Donald Trump. Both the leaders will also spoke on the occasion.

About 40,000 protesters will be shuttled to the site of the protest by 50 buses.

At and around the venue of the protest, banners inscribed with anti-Modi and anti-India slogans have been put up.
