At least 27 killed, dozen hurt in Diamer bus crash

DIAMER: At least 27 passengers, women and children among them, were killed and 12 others injured when a Rawalpindi-bound bus rammed into a mountain on Babusar Pass here on Sunday.

“The bus driver lost control of the vehicle before it collided against a mountain,” Mohammad Wakeel, a spokesman for the Diamer police said.

The killed and the injured were transferred to a nearby hospital. Local administration had declared an emergency at the hospital after the accident.

Most of the injured are in critical condition, Gilgit-Baltistan Spokesperson Faizullah Faraq told media.

The ill-fated bus was going to Rawalpindi from Skardu.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the bus crash.
