ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has been given an extension of another three years as the Pakistan Army Chief here on Monday.
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure. The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment,” reads a notification issued the office of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Earlier in Nov 2016, Gen Bajwa was appointed as Pakistan’s Army chief by then prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
