In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged the government of India to take the repeated dialogue offer of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan seriously.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Hurriyat has always favoured talks as the means of resolution and there is nothing new in the remark on dialogue.
He said, “Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s repeated offer of dialogue on all issues between India and Pakistan including the Kashmir issue should also be seriously considered as a way forward.”
He said that Kashmiris being the most affected party for the past seventy two years naturally want its resolution and since its inception when all parties came together under one umbrella, the Hurriyat has been maintaining and reiterating that engagement and dialogue among stakeholders is the best and most peaceful means of resolution of Kashmir issue and not force.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed grief over the demise of three prominent citizens of Kashmir that include well known trader and philanthropist, Abdul Ahad Tramboo, Sajada Nisheen Dargah Hazratbal, Ghulam Hassan Banday and noted educationist professor Abdur Rehman Wani’s elder brother Muhammad Yousuf Wani of Bota Kadal.
Mirwaiz extended his heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased and prayed for departed souls.
A delegation on behalf of Mirwaiz visited the residence of deceased Tramboo and offered condolences and extended solidarity and sympathies with them.
