WASHINGTON: United States of America President Barak Obama has apologized for mistakenly killed an American and Italian on Pak-Afghan border in an operation against Al Qaeda. Both were detained by Al Qaeda and were kept in a compound.

Obama said the men were killed during a mission that targeted an Al-Qaeda compound in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

An American citizen Warren Weinstein and Italian Giovanni Lo Porto were killed in the operation. He said that there was no information that hostages were kept at the Al Qaeda compound.
