PZ, PCB, US Consulate hold Women Cricket Coaching Camp in Lahore

Zalmi Foundation, together with US Consulate Lahore & PCB hold a Young Women Cricket Coaching Camp from Girls from the outskirts of KP & Punjab in NCA Lahore, 40 girls participated in this camp, Peshawar Zalmi Head Coach Muhammad Akram, Peshawar Zalmi Stars Wahab Riaz, Kamran Akmal, Umaid Asif were present, Coaching was provided to the girls.

PSL’s biggest franchise Peshawar Zalmi is working towards women empowerment in the region of KP. To take this mission forward, Zalmi Foundation organized a Women’s Training Camp in NCA Lahore with the cooperation of US Consulate Lahore & PCB where 40 girls participated. They were provided professional cricket coaching in order to enhance their game. The camp took place on Monday 29th April 2019.

These 40 girls belong to the region of KP & Punjab and our passionate for the game of cricket. US Consulate General’s Ambassador Mr. Colin Crinwilge was happy to see all the accolades everywhere of the girls and was to be part of a women empowerment initiative. Peshawar Zalmi Head Coach Muhammad Akram, Zalmi Stars Umaid Asif, Kamran Akmal & Wahab Riaz were also present. They said this initiative will pave more opportunities for women’s cricket in these areas.

Chairman Javed Afridi said that “Zalmi Foundation is working diligently towards youth and women empowerment. This initiative is to find new talent for cricket and provide these girls an opportunity so they too can enter the mainstream cricket arena. Thank you the US Consulate Lahore & PCB for their support in this initiative.

Souvenirs and prizes were distributed among the girls.
