Thousands attend funerals of martyrs in Pulwama, Shopian

In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of four youth martyred by Indian troops in Lassipora area of Pulwama district, the other day.

The martyrs Tawseef Ahmad Ittoo, Zafar Ahmad Paul, Aaqib Ahmad Kumar and Muhammad Shafi Butt belonged to different areas of Pulwama and Shopian districts. The funerals of the youth were offered amid high pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. Pakistani flags were also raised during the funerals.

Tawseef was laid to rest in Gadbug-Lassipora area of Pulwama district while other three martyrs were buried in their native Nolu, Sedow and Hillow areas of Shopian district.

The face of martyr Aaqib was mutilated beyond recognition. The mourners told media that his face was covered up with bandage by doctors. Many people including the family members of Aaqib addressed the mourners at Hillow in Shopian district.

Zafar Ahmad Pal, a laboratory technician, was laid to rest in Nolu and Muhammad Shafi was buried in Sedow village of the same district.

The last rites of Towseef Ahmed Itoo, a carpenter by profession, were performed at Gadbug-Lassipora in Pulwama district.

It is pertinent to mention here that on the same day (April 01) in 2018 at least 13 youth were brutally killed by Indian troops in Dragad and Kachdoora areas of Shopian district.
