Indian police arrest Yasin Malik, Hilal War in Srinagar

In occupied Kashmir, Indian police, today, arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and the Chairman of Peoples Political Party in Srinagar on the eve of Indian Republic Day.

A large number of police personnel arrested Yasin Malik from the party’s Abi Guzar office and lodged him at Kothi Bagh police station.

Before his detention, Yasin Malik told reporters that India claimed to be a democratic country but had stifled the democratic rights of the people of Kashmir.

Police raided the party headquarters of Peoples Political Party at Rajbagh in Srinagar and arrested its Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War. He has been him at Maisuma Police Station.

On the occasion talking to newsmen in Srinagar, he urged the people of Kashmir to observe January 26 as a Black Day as Indian government has no right to celebrate its Republic Day on the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a party spokesman condemned his arrest in strong words and termed it oppression and a denial of right to expression.
