FO releases 100-day performance report

The Foreign Office on Thursday released its 100-day performance report.

The report, which has been released as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government completes its 100 days in office, states that Saudi Arabia granted an economic package and investment coordination. “The Kingdom reduced visa fee by 85% for Pakistani labourers,” the report read.

“Relations between Pakistan and China were strengthened and ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were converted into a long-term strategic and economic partnership,” the report said. “Pakistan was also accorded the status of a preferential partner in Korea’s economic development coordination,” it added.

The report further said, “To halt anti-Islam attempts, Pakistan played a leading role in OIC’s efforts.”

“The groundbreaking of Kartarpur corridor was performed and meetings of Asian Parliamentary Assembly were hosted in Gwadar,” it continued. “Nineteen memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed with four countries,” the report upheld.

Regarding the foreign trips of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the report said, “The foreign minister led delegations to four countries namely Afghanistan, United States, UAE and Tajikistan in the past 100 days.”

“Meanwhile, high-level delegations of six countries and foreign ministers of seven countries, including Iran, China, Turkey and Uzbekistan, visited Pakistan. Top officials of the US and Qatar also visited Islamabad,” the report stated.
