The government appointed Allah Dino Khawaja as inspector-general of National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP).
Khawaja, a grade-21 officer, was previously serving as the top police official of Sindh and was replaced by the caretaker government in the run up to general elections.
The notification was issued by the Establishment Division, appointing Khawaja with immediate effect.
In August 2017, Khawaja inaugurated the public complaint helpline 9110 in Sindh with an aim to address the complaints of the citizens.
While addressing a press conference at Central Police Office (CPO), Khawaja said the helpline initiates an integrated system at the law enforcement agency to speedily address public complaints.
“All calls made to 9110 will be recorded and monitored by a dedicated team, while I myself will look into the serious matters that are reported on it,” he said. “The system is interlinked with all divisions of the police across the province and intends to serve public,” he added.
