In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed for the fourth consecutive day, today, in Shopian against the killing of six youth by the Indian troops during cordon and search operations and firing on protesters on Saturday.
All shops, business establishments, schools and colleges and petrol pumps remained closed for the fourth straight day in Shopian town and other parts of the district. Public transport was also off the roads in the south Kashmir district.
Meanwhile, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat delegation comprising Ashiq Hussain Narchoor, Sabzar Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Shafi and Sartaj Ahmad visited the residence of the martyr Arif Ahmad Mir at Yannar in Pahalgam and expressed solidarity with his family.
Delegation members on occasion paid rich tributes to young martyr Arif Ahmad Mir and said, “The sacrifices offered by the youth are the priceless assets for the ongoing freedom movement.”
They also conveyed the condolence message of TeH Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, to the family of martyr Arif Ahmad Mir.
