Resistance leaders and organizations in Indian occupied Kashmir have strongly condemned the arrest and shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and her associates, Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen to New Delhi by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said Kashmir has been turned into a killing field where the lives of men, women and even school going children are not safe.

He appealed to the Amnesty International, Asia Watch and organizations working for women’s rights to take cognizance of the plight of the suppressed and oppressed people of Kashmir especially women and fulfil their obligations in accordance with human rights specified for the world community.

The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Zamrooda Habib and General Secretary, Shamim Shawl in their statements condemned the shifting of illegally detained DeM Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi and her associates from Srinagar central jail to Delhi.

They said denying the freedom of expression and subjecting determined leadership to this highhandedness is undemocratic and unethical manipulation.

The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front in a statement in Srinagar also condemned the act as brutal. Arresting women and shifting them to far-off places is nothing but to terrify the pro-freedom people of Kashmir who demand their established right of self determination, he added.

The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in its statement in Srinagar vehemently denounced the move and called it an act of sheer vengeance, which is from all aspects a shameful game played to suppress the genuine voice of the people of Kashmir.
