In occupied Kashmir, valley-wide shutdown is being observed, today, against the planned genocide of Kashmiri people, especially youth, by the Indian forces in the territory.

Call for the strike has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.

All shops and business establishments are closed while there is very thin traffic movement on roads in the valley. Indian troops have blocked roads with concertina wires at many places. Train and internet services have been suspended in all major parts of the Kashmir valley.

The authorities arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik and put Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Engineer Hilal Ahmad War under house detention in Srinagar in the wake of protest call.

The JRL expressing concern over resumption of Operation All-Out and CASOs in Kashmir said the forces have resumed the Operation and when people resist to forces’ harassment action they are showered with pellets and bullets with a sole aim of killing them.

“We can’t act as mute spectators over the brutal killings of unarmed protesters as since Eid, four innocent people including father of two minor siblings were killed by the troops,” the JRL said in the statement.

strongly condemning the killings of civilians — Aijaz Ahmed Butt, Muhammad Yousuf Rather and Yawar Nazir— the JRL said that more than 50 people had been left seriously injured, many of them with bullets and pellet injuries.
