In Indian occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, Thursday, against the continued killing spree by the Indian troops in the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. It is also aimed at registering protest against the cold-blooded murder of veteran Kashmiri journalist, Shujaat Bukhari. All shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road.

Indian police arrested Muhammad Yasin Malik after raiding his residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar early morning today and lodged him at Kothibagh Police Station. The authorities put other Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Hilal Ahmed War and Bilal Siddiqi under house arrest or in custody to prevent them from leading demonstrations against the killings.

The puppet authorities have suspended train services across the Kashmir Valley.
