Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has urged the United Nations and UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to take cognizance of the gross human rights violations being perpetrated by the Indian troops in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Authorities in Delhi through their military might seem desperate to cow down our spirits. However all the follies played by them will culminate in their defeat. Representing the sentiments and aspirations of people, it has remained our stance and we have been saying that we will never succumb to any pressure and will take the ongoing freedom movement to its logical end.”

The APHC Chairman said that India and its puppet authorities were killing innocent youth and inflicting brutalities on the people of the occupied territory. Referring to the illegally detained Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, and her associates including Fehmeeda Sofi, he hailed the contribution of the ailing leaders and said that the puppet authorities without any legal justification were prolonging their unlawful detention.

Gilani condemned the authorities for repeatedly slapping draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), on senior resistance leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt. “Slapping Masarrat Aalam with PSA on fake grounds and prolonging his detention is condemnable,” he said. He termed the illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders, Mir Hafeezullah and Ameer Hamza Shah, as political vengeance. He also denounced the nocturnal raids by the Indian police on the residence of Hurriyat leader, Bashir Ahmed Qureshi, and harassment of his family members.

Gilani said that unjustified detention and other brutal tactics would not be able to cow down the spirits of the resistance leaders.
