Controversial book: Ex-ISI chief Asad Durrani to visit GHQ today

RAWALPINDI: Former ISI Chief Lt Gen (retd) Asad Durrani will visit the General Headquarters (GHQ) here today and explain his position on views attributed to him in book ‘Spy Chronicles’

DG ISPR Major Gen Asif Ghafoor had tweeted on May 25 that “former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Asad Durrani has been summoned in GHQ where he will clarify all claims made in his book.

He also said the book had certain claims which violated military code of conduct. The military code of conduct is applicable on all present and retired personal.

Durrani had served as ISI chief from August 1990 to March 1992. He wrote a book “The Spy Chronicles, RAW ISI the illusion of peace” in cooperation with former RAW chief AS Dalit

Kargil War, Burhan Wani, Kashmir dispute,Hafiz Saeed, Operation of American Navy Seals and slaughter of Osama are some of the topics discussed in the book.

The book launching took place a few days back which was not attended by Asad Durrani as he could not get visa clearance.
