Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi,in Indian occupied Kashmir, has urged the Muslim scholars of the territory to raise their voice against rape and murder of a child in Kathua area of Jammu region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Ulema must come out and lead people in the protests. Ulema have a significant role to play as this people’s movement is at its zenith. This movement needs your contribution.”
The DeM Chief said, “Ulema know how Muslims must act when their daughters, mothers and sisters are in danger.”
“Are not the cases like Kunanposhpora, Shopian, Islamabad and now Aasifa’s enough to shake our conscience,” she said and added, “It is clear how BJP, RSS and their affiliate Hindua Ekta Manch hatched the conspiracy to dislocate nomadic community in Kathua. They wanted to grab their property.”
“Lal Singh who led the march, time and again, threatened the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. The Bar Association of Jammu also held rallies in support of rapists and killers. It is clear case of intimidation as these forces want to drive out Muslims from Jammu like they did in 1947,” she added.
Meanwhile, a DeM spokesperson expressed grave concern over the condition of illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in different jails.
On the other hand, a court in Srinagar has granted bail to five out of seven Dukhtaran-e-Millat activists arrested by the Indian police in Pulwama, last Sunday.
