JIT report: Accused of Safoora incident admits ISIS links

KARACHI: A report of Joint Investigative Team (JIT) released on local media said that key accused Saad Aziz has admitted association with militant organisation Islamic State (IS).

The report statend that the accused persons have connections with Al-Qaeda and IS. Key accused Saad Aziz admitted before the JIT that they tried to join IS after Al-Qaeda lost ground in Pakistan post killing of Osama Bin Laden.

He also admitted that the ill-fated bus had been monitored by the accused persons at different spots. Moreover, other two accused Abdullah and Mistry Pathan were wearing uniforms like security officials who stopped the bus while they started firing down the victims along with Tahir Minhas and Umer.

Saad Aziz also made revelations that slain Sabeen Mehmood was assassinated over her statement against top cleric of Maulana Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid Islamabad.
