The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani while criticizing Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh for his provocative statements, has said that Kashmir is a serious issue, which cannot be resolved through rhetoric or provocative statements

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The Indian leaders are following their bigoted dogma and as such creating war euphoria in the region. No sane person can say like this.” He was referring to Rajnath’s statement that Indian government had directed forces to shoot limitless bullets to retaliate a single fire by the Pakistani forces”. Gilani said New Delhi’s narratives reflect negative and egoistic approach.

“Such rhetoric and senseless statements instead of solving issues will multiply the problems and any flare-up can lead to a full-fledged nuclear war between the two countries,” Gilani said. “This will only add fuel to fire. Indian leaders should shun their stubborn attitude and accept the ground reality.”Hurriyat chairman said Kashmir issue is serious and cannot be resolved through rhetoric or provocative statements.

“Despite exhaustion of all resources and military might by India over the past 70 years, the Kashmir issue is there and not an iota of change seems to have happened on the ground. Instead we are counting and carrying the dead bodies on both sides of borders and with each passing day, the situation turns from bad to worse,” he added.

“Even Rajnath Singh is aware of this fact that continuous bloodshed on both sides has created catastrophe,” he added. Gilani said threats by Indian leadership won’t force Kashmiris into submission. “No matter how much pressure Delhi builds on us, we will never surrender. We are committed with our mission.”

“The valiant people of Kashmir have proved time and again that no amount of incarcerations and torture could dissuade them from pursuing their legitimate and inalienable right to self-determination,” he said.

The APHC chairman appealed to UN Secretary General to take notice of the provocative statement of Indian home minister, use influence to halt the bloodshed in the Indian occupied territory and take steps for its settlement as per resolutions of the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Geelani expressed deep grief over the demise of maternal aunt of incarcerated pro-freedom leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah.
