In Indian occupied Kashmir, a complete shutdown is being observed in Shopian for ninth consecutive day on Friday, against the killing of civilians by Indian troops in the district.
According to Kashmir Media Service , all shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road.
The puppet authorities imposed restrictions in Shopian and Srinagar to foil a march towards Shopian town, today. The call for the march was given by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to express solidarity with the families of the martyrs. All entry and exit points of Shopian have been sealed.
Meanwhile, Indian police arrested Mirwaiz Umar Farooq outside his residence in Srinagar, today, after he defied his house detention and tried to march towards Shopian town.
The occupation authorities have also placed Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Aasiya Andrabi, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi, Bashir Ahmad Butt, Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Umar Aadil Dar and Muhammad Yousuf Makroo under house arrest or in custody to stop them from leading the march.
Indian police raided the residences of Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Javaid Ahmed Zargar and Zahoor Ahmed Butt and harassed the inmates.
Internet services have been snapped in the entire district from the last nine days while the occupation authorities also suspended train service between Baramulla area of the Kashmir Valley and Banihal area of Jammu region.
